Scott and Lia Williams of Easthill Estate have been supplying Chardonnay for Trocchio Wines since 2014. Based in the northern Yarra Valley, the Kangaroo Ground vineyard is rich in volcanic soils and produces premium Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for commercial and private wineries.

Easthill Estate is a small family owned and operated business that, as well as producing quality wine grapes, breed grey and coloured huacaya alpacas.

The vineyard is at the base of an extinct volcano, the remains of which can still be seen today. The resultant volcanic soil is well drained and rich in nutrients which contribute to the resulting wines minerality, richness and balance. Chardonnay is normally picked at sugar levels suited to table wine. However, the Easthill Estate Chardonnay picked at lower sugar levels work really well for the production of sparkling wine; blanc de blanc in particular. We first experimented in a methode Chamennoise sparkiling wine in 2018 and because of it’s success, have continued to produce this popular style today under our Teresena NV label.
